A LITTLE HELP ON BACKPACK SIZING

While some people of the same height have long legs and short torso lengths, others have
a long torso and shorter legs. . . so, a person's overal height is not that accurate in determining backpack fit .

~~~ It is best to determine your TORSO LENGTH ~~~
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
HOW TO MEASURE YOUR TORSO LENGTH:
Measure the length from your 7th vertebrae ... to a point in the small of your back that
is even with the the top of your hipbones.
The 7th vertebrae is the prominent bump on your spine at the base of your neck.
(This is easiest to locate while tipping your head and looking straight down.)
POINTER : MOST experienced hikers will recommend putting the heavier part of your load near the bottom of your
backpack to keep your center of gravity lower.
NOTE : The "stays" are the vertical part of the internal frame ( usually containing bendable aluminum in better backpacks ) that "stiffens" your backpack
A LITTLE HELP ON MUMMY STYLE SLEEPING BAG SIZING
5' 10" tall and OVER, we recommend you use the TALL or LARGE mummy bags for comfort.
ALSO, Please be aware of the " MAXIMUM GIRTH " on each size of mummy bag.
IF you are more than 58" or so, in girth around the shoulders & chest
( or 48 " around the waist area ) the standard size bag will not fit you properly and
will be uncomfortable.
NOTE:
Neither Standard Size or TALL Size will be comfortable on a person more than about 64"
in girth around the shoulders & chest ( or 50 " around the waist area )
If you have NOT used a mummy style sleeping bag before, you will need to be prepared
for a tighter fit than a regular rectangular sleeping bag.
This closer fit is one of the reasons WHY the mummy bags are warmer than rectangular bags
but some campers find mummy bags a bit confining until they get used to the different feeling.
